KEY SOURCING REGIONS

Our garment-making and material sourcing operations are strategically situated in key regions and countries renowned for their prominence in the garment industry and their dedication to crafting high-quality products and pioneering innovation in the fashion and clothing sector. Our alignment with carefully chosen supply chain partners reflects our unwavering commitment to responsible and sustainable manufacturing practices, as well as the protection of worker rights. By collaborating with these forward-thinking partners, we ensure that our clients receive garments and materials that not only meet but exceed the highest industry benchmarks for quality, innovation, and ethical standards. Additionally we prioritise keeping all elements of production close together to minimise our carbon footprint and to streamline production. Finally, where possible, we leverage free trade agreements to reduce costs and enhance efficiency

LABOUR ETHICS

We understand that the well-being of the individuals who contribute to our manufacturing processes is fundamental to our success and the trust our clients place in us. We take pride in upholding the highest ethical labour standards and have an unwavering dedication to responsible manufacturing and respecting workers' rights. Transparency is the cornerstone of accountability and a guiding principle at HQI Workshop. It extends to every aspect of our operations with a specific emphasis on labour practices. This commitment is especially crucial in the functional technical garment sector, where workers' rights are often disregarded and undervalued.

We are dedicated to a continuous improvement mindset. It's not just about maintaining the status quo; it's about actively seeking ways to enhance labour practices and ensure a safe and respectful work environment for all employees in our partner factories. While we acknowledge that challenges exist in some regions, we actively engage with our partners to ensure workers are free to exercise their rights and that these rights are upheld.

For this reason, we exclusively work with factories located in countries which allow the formation of independent trade unions. We stand by the principles of collective bargaining, ensuring fair wages and that every employee has a voice in shaping their work environment. In addition, we are committed to conducting business in countries where external auditing organisations focused on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards can conduct audits without fear of obstruction or danger. This commitment to safety and transparency ensures that our ethical labour practices can be rigorously verified. We maintain an open-door policy when it comes to auditing our operations, welcoming external organisations and civil society institutions to scrutinise our practices. Third-party audits are a testament to a commitment to responsible manufacturing and ethical labour practices.

In this context, our key manufacturing partners in Thailand are certified by Fair Trade USA, underscoring our commitment to fostering a safe and respectful work environment prioritising the rights and well-being of employees. Fair Trade USA offers various initiatives to bolster workers' rights and welfare, including educational programs covering sustainable agriculture, financial literacy, health and safety, and community development. In addition, they provide financial support for independent projects such as a vegetable farm managed by factory workers to cultivate food for their families. Regular audits by Fair Trade USA ensure adherence to fair labour standards, while advocacy efforts promote fair wages and benefits. Additionally, empowerment programs empower workers to participate in decision-making processes, contributing to a more equitable and sustainable global supply chain.

Furthermore, we prioritise freedom of association and human dignity, fostering an inclusive and respectful environment for all individuals in our supply chain. We are unwavering in our commitment to a workplace free from discrimination. Our commitment includes combating discrimination based on race, religion, age, nationality, social or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender, political opinions, and disability. Additionally, we vehemently oppose forced labour and child labour, ensuring that our practices adhere to the highest standards.

By working with us, you can be assured that our commitment to workers' rights and ethical manufacturing is not just a statement but a fundamental aspect of our operations. We are committed to creating resilient, diverse, and ethically responsible supply chains while advocating for positive change in the regions where we operate.

STANDARDS, CERTIFICATIONS & TRANSPARENCY

Reaffirming our dedication to responsible manufacturing, where possible we prioritise the use of certified yarns sourced from internationally recognised textile companies and organisations that uphold stringent environmental and labour standards. Through this enhanced transparency framework, we aim to establish a certified and traceable supply chain that spans from fibre sourcing to the production of the final garment.

Our efforts extend beyond mere unverifiable corporate statements or rhetoric on our website or social media. We actively seek out reputable certification bodies to verify our claims and commitments, ensuring transparency and accountability in our practices. These certifications contribute to providing assurances that our supply chain operates in accordance with internationally recognised standards for sustainability and social responsibility.

Additionally, we prioritise compliance with industry-specific standards and regulations to promote fair wages, safe working conditions, and worker empowerment. Our services extend to assisting customers in ensuring compliance with forced labour import regulations and sustainability standards. By partnering with these institutions, we uphold a commitment to transparency and accountability in our manufacturing processes, fostering a culture of ethical responsibility and sustainability within the garment-making textile industry.
